Who Is Mr Oliver?
Mr Oliver is a fictional character who is a firm believer in the rescue culture and spends most of his time helping Directors and individuals suffering from a financial crisis.
Mr Oliver spends some of his free time trying to outflank his gaming competitors. After saying goodnight to his children, he likes nothing more than a quick blast of Fortnite on his Xbox to unwind after a hard day at the office.
Who Is Mr Elliot?
Mr Elliot is a fictional character who is a firm believer in putting creditors first. He spends most of his time dealing with difficult insolvencies and liquidations. He has been known on occasion to bring legal proceedings to produce recoveries for creditors.
In fact Mr Elliot in his free time loves to read court decisions. He is simply fascinated at how judges make their decisions, particularly when they disagree. He has thought many times about also qualifying as a lawyer but simply does not have the time.
How Did Mr Oliver Meet Mr Elliot?
They met at University thirty years ago. Mr Oliver was studying Law, whilst Mr Elliot studying Accountancy.
Mr Oliver and Mr Elliot became great friends, despite Mr Oliver spending most of his time exposing the idiosyncrasies of Mr Elliot. Still does to this day and they still get on like a house on fire. However, if Mr Elliot’s house was on fire, he would not necessarily think to call the fire brigade first. In the first instance, his first call for advice about how to put out the fire might be to Mr Oliver to see if he had any good ideas.
However, were it not for Mrs Pauline, Mr Oliver and Mr Elliot would have never met. Mr Oliver and Mr Elliot had a mutual friend at University, Mrs Pauline.
Who Is Mrs Pauline?
Mrs Pauline was on the Accountancy course with Mr Elliot and she shared a flat with Mr Oliver.
After University Mr Oliver and Mr Elliot kept in touch with Mrs Pauline but not each other. Some years later Mr Oliver and Mr Elliot qualified as Lawyer and Accountant respectively and then Mr Oliver went to work at an insolvency practice. Mr Elliot qualified as an Accountant but did not know what on earth to do afterwards and so spoke to Mrs Pauline. Mrs Pauline mentioned Mr Oliver, who although not enamoured with routine law and conveyancing was flourishing working in insolvency and re-introduced him to Mr Oliver.
At the time Mr Elliot’s first cousin in America had just gone bankrupt owing huge sums to the Internal Revenue Service. Mr Elliot was simply fascinated by the stories of Mr Oliver who was spending his time investigating individuals in such a position and getting some spectacular recoveries for creditors.
